Taskforce plans to report recommendations to U.S. and UK finance ministries in summer 2026

HM Treasury hosted U.S. Treasury and regulatory representatives in London on January 26, 2026, for a senior-level industry engagement convened by the Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future. The Taskforce — created during President Trump’s September 2025 state visit by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves — discussed strengthening links between UK and U.S. capital markets and cooperation on digital assets. Additional joint engagements in the United States are planned, and the Taskforce will report recommendations to both finance ministries via the UK‑U.S. Financial Regulatory Working Group in summer 2026.
